International Event Cinema Manager

To insure the best quality in cinema experience for our customers, Kinepolis Group is able to lean on a vast group of (international) supporting services. Within these departments local and international knowledge is consolidated and diffused, assuring that all countries benefit from each other’s achievements.

Within this context, we are looking to hire someone to take on the role: International Event Cinema Manager. The emphasize within this role will be to take ownership to further develop event cinema propositions around four major blocks: Culture, Concerts, Anime and Kids. All this, framed within the strategy defined by our Chief Box-Office Officer.

But what would our colleague need to do exactly?

  • Evaluate target groups and potential in each market in accordance with national Box Office Departments.
  • Negotiate the rights, the terms and footprint with the content provider for each territory.
  • Elaborate the communication and the marketing strategy and provide a full package “ready-to-go-to-market” to territories.
  • Ensure correct and efficient implementation, which implies local help at developing and analyzing results to improve performance.
  • Working closely with the local and international Kinepolis marketing and creative teams, as we develop enthralling marketing campaigns.
  • Act as the liaison between different internal and external business units, all invested at reaching the correct crowd with our marketing messages.
  • Kinepolis has developed a collaborative platform to broaden her footprint internationally and works as middleman between right holders and cinemas across the world. The International Event Cinema Manager will strengthen this collaboration and footprint.
  • Managing and updating numerous schedules and reports, including tracking key marketing metrics.
  • Managing all purchase orders and related invoices; and other day-to-day administrative tasks
  • When the occasion requests it: take part in foreign film fairs and film festivals abroad.


What would be interesting features of our new colleague?

  • An elaborate experience within marketing, in an international context, would help immensely at getting a grip on the challenges. A degree in Marketing or a related field also benefits to understand how to evaluate movie potential and target audiences.
  • An experience – but foremost: a passion – in the movie and cinema industry.
  • Excellent communication skills. With this we mean not only being able to deliver a message, to internal and external partners, with a sincere clarity, but also to uphold the reflex to make sure your message is well conveyed and that the needs of your conversational partners are well noted.
  • An ease to work within a matrix environment – not the movie: the corporate context – and being at influencing and coordinating with different stakeholders.
  • Well apt at analyzing business/decision flows – both on an operational level as tactical, within the strategical frame – using numerical data, amongst many sources.
  • To feel comfortable sharing your opinions, taking the lead with confidence while rolling out your own ideas and initiatives.
  • Technical savviness – both in the Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Teams,…) as more creative applications/tools – are helpful to maneuver within the digital environment of Kinepolis.
  • A fluent knowledge of English. Knowledge of French, Dutch or Spanish always comes in hand.
  • A fun personality, where a sense of humor reflects your skills at focusing on the opportunities at hand and not the limitations.
